As this is a trivial non-intrusive addition, I've used the development 
trunk to add the draft skeleton of the command:

If you (or someone else) could provide the 3 neccessary operations, this 
would be very gentle, as it would save me the time to find and try the 
relevant constructs.

I estimate that this should take an experienced python coder just minutes.
